GoingNext is a leading platform for the Digital Economy in Portugal. We support companies, professionals and institutions through five main areas:
– Portugal Digital Events – Events and experiences that inspire, connect the community and accelerate the transformation of the digital economy;
– Portugal Digital Network – A network connecting the professionals and decision-makers behind Portugal’s digital progress, promoting networking, collaboration and knowledge sharing;
– Portugal Digital Media – Production and distribution of exclusive content on technology, innovation and the trends shaping the digital future;
– Portugal Digital Honors – Initiatives recognising excellence across Portugal’s digital ecosystem, celebrating organisations, projects and leaders driving transformation;
– Portugal Digital Advising – Strategic guidance for leaders and organisations, supporting decision-making and digital transformation at scale.
GoingNext also provides the GoingNext HUB mobile application, through which users may access content, events, features and services made available by GoingNext.
GoingNext collects personal data transparently and only to the extent necessary for our relationship with users and the provision of our services.
Depending on how you interact with us, we may process:
– Identification and contact data: name, email address, telephone number, company and other information required to create and manage an account;
– Professional data: company, job title, department, industry, seniority level and areas of interest;
– Account and authentication data: information required to create, authenticate and manage a GoingNext HUB account. Authentication is supported by Supabase and users may also choose to sign in using Google, Apple or LinkedIn;
– Participation data: event registrations and attendance, ticket type, selected sessions or activities and other interactions related to GoingNext initiatives;
– Communication data: newsletter subscriptions, responses to forms or surveys, communication preferences and interactions with content;
– Technical data required for the operation of the application: IP address, device type, operating system, application version and other technical identifiers strictly necessary to provide and secure the service;
– Push notification data: notification token associated with the device, the relevant platform — iOS or Android — and the user’s notification permissions and preferences;
– MB WAY payment data: telephone number provided for the payment, amount and currency, transaction reference and identifier assigned by EuPago, payment status and relevant dates, and the event and ticket type associated with the transaction.
Financial information not received by GoingNext
GoingNext does not receive or store card numbers, IBANs, banking account details, banking credentials or other financial information used to authorise a payment.
MB WAY payments are processed through EuPago — Instituição de Pagamento, a payment institution licensed in Portugal.
GoingNext HUB sends the payment request to EuPago. The user subsequently confirms the payment through the MB WAY application provided by their bank, and EuPago returns only the payment result and the information required to identify and manage the transaction to GoingNext’s server.
Personal data may be processed for the following purposes:
– Managing registrations, participation and communications relating to GoingNext events and initiatives;
– Providing, managing and operating the GoingNext HUB application;
– Creating, authenticating and managing user accounts;
– Enabling sign-in through third-party authentication services where selected by the user;
– Providing content, event programmes, ticket information and other application features;
– Personalising certain content or features based on preferences and interests provided by the user;
– Sending communications relating to events, networking, content and services;
– Sending push notifications relating to events, programme changes, operational information, content, updates and other relevant communications where permitted by the user;
– Initiating, processing, confirming and managing MB WAY payments;
– Managing invoicing and administrative requirements associated with transactions;
– Carrying out B2B marketing and communications where an appropriate legal basis exists;
– Protecting the security of our websites, platforms and application;
– Preventing fraud, misuse and unauthorised access;
– Resolving technical issues;
– Complying with legal, tax, accounting and regulatory obligations.
Depending on the relevant purpose, our processing of personal data may be based on:
– Performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures, including event registrations, participation, use of GoingNext HUB, account management, ticket purchases and payment processing;
– Consent, where legally required for particular communications or features. Consent may be withdrawn at any time;
– Legitimate interests, including managing and developing our business, protecting the security of our services, improving our processes and providing relevant information in a professional context, provided that those interests are not overridden by the rights and interests of data subjects;
– Compliance with legal obligations, including tax, accounting and regulatory requirements.
Permissions for receiving push notifications can be changed or withdrawn at any time through the user’s device settings.
GoingNext uses certain third-party providers to deliver specific functions within its services.
In connection with GoingNext HUB, personal data may be processed by the following providers for their respective purposes:
Supabase
Used to provide database infrastructure and application authentication.
Google, Apple and LinkedIn
Used only where a user chooses to sign in using an account provided by one of these services.
Apple Push Notification service (APNs)
Used to deliver push notifications to iOS devices.
Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM), provided by Google
Used to deliver push notifications to Android devices.
GoingNext’s use of FCM is limited to notification delivery. GoingNext HUB does not use Firebase Analytics.
EuPago — Instituição de Pagamento
Used for payment processing, including MB WAY payments.
GoingNext may also use other technical, administrative or professional service providers where necessary to operate its services and business.
Service providers processing personal data on behalf of GoingNext should only have access to the information required to perform their respective services and are subject to applicable contractual and legal confidentiality, security and data protection obligations.
GoingNext may also disclose personal data to public, judicial, tax or other competent authorities where required by law.
GoingNext HUB may send push notifications containing information about events, programmes, content, updates, services and other relevant communications.
To provide this functionality, GoingNext stores:
– The notification token associated with the user’s device;
– The relevant platform, iOS or Android.
Notifications are delivered through:
– Apple Push Notification service (APNs) for iOS;
– Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) for Android.
Users may manage or disable push notifications at any time through their device settings.
GoingNext HUB may allow users to purchase tickets or other services using MB WAY.
Payments are processed by EuPago — Instituição de Pagamento.
For the purpose of managing the transaction, GoingNext may retain:
– The telephone number provided for the payment;
– Amount and currency;
– Transaction reference and identifier assigned by EuPago;
– Payment status and relevant dates;
– The event and ticket type associated with the payment.
GoingNext does not receive or store card numbers, IBANs, banking credentials or information used to authenticate the user with their bank.
Such information is processed exclusively by the payment providers involved in the transaction, including EuPago and the user’s banking institution.
GoingNext HUB may display thumbnails or images associated with videos hosted on YouTube, which are retrieved directly from YouTube’s servers.
When a user opens an application screen displaying such content, their device may establish a connection with YouTube’s servers and, as a result, the user’s IP address may be transmitted to YouTube/Google in order to load the image.
GoingNext does not associate this information with the user’s GoingNext account, does not use it for profiling and does not implement its own tracking mechanism through YouTube thumbnails.
Any processing carried out by YouTube or Google is subject to their respective privacy policies.
GoingNext HUB does not use third-party analytics, advertising or error-monitoring SDKs.
In particular, the application does not use:
– Google Analytics;
– Firebase Analytics;
– Meta SDK;
– Sentry;
– or equivalent services for analysing user behaviour.
GoingNext does not send information regarding users’ application behaviour to third parties for analytics or advertising purposes.
Third-party components used by the application are limited to those required for:
– Database and authentication — Supabase;
– Sign-in — Google, Apple and LinkedIn;
– Notification delivery — APNs and FCM;
– Payments — EuPago;
– Loading certain images hosted by YouTube.
Personal data is retained only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected and in accordance with applicable legal requirements.
In particular:
– Data processed for marketing purposes: for up to 5 years following the last contact, unless the user objects or withdraws the applicable consent;
– Event participation data: for up to 3 years, including for statistical, historical and relationship-management purposes;
– Payment and invoicing information: for the periods required under applicable tax, accounting and other legal obligations;
– Account and GoingNext HUB data: for as long as required to provide the service or while the user’s account remains active, without prejudice to additional legally required retention periods;
– Push notification tokens: for as long as necessary to provide the notification functionality or until the token is no longer valid or the functionality is disabled.
Where personal data is no longer required, it will be deleted or anonymised unless its retention is required by law.
Some of the technology providers used by GoingNext may process personal data outside the European Economic Area.
Where applicable, GoingNext will seek to ensure that such transfers are carried out using legally recognised safeguards, including adequacy decisions, Standard Contractual Clauses or other mechanisms permitted under applicable data protection legislation.
Under applicable data protection legislation, you may, where relevant, have the right to:
– Access your personal data;
– Correct inaccurate or outdated information;
– Request deletion of your data;
– Request restriction of processing;
– Object to processing;
– Request data portability;
– Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent;
– Lodge a complaint with the Portuguese Data Protection Authority, Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD).

GoingNext implements appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction.
These measures may include:
– Secure connections and protocols;
– Access controls and restrictions;
– Authentication mechanisms;
– Backups;
– Application and infrastructure security measures;
– System maintenance and updates;
– Contractual confidentiality and security requirements applicable to relevant service providers.
No system can guarantee absolute security. The measures adopted are therefore reviewed taking into account the relevant risks, the nature of the personal data and technological developments.
GoingNext websites may use cookies and similar technologies to support their operation, store preferences, analyse usage and, where applicable, personalise content and communications.
Users may manage their preferences through the consent management tools available on our websites and through their browser settings.
GoingNext HUB does not use analytics or advertising cookies or SDKs to track user behaviour.
The application uses only technical identifiers and technologies required to provide functionalities such as authentication, push notifications and the services described in this Privacy Policy.
GoingNext may update this Privacy Policy whenever necessary, including to reflect changes to our services, GoingNext HUB, the providers we use, the technologies implemented or applicable legislation.
The latest version will be made available on GoingNext’s websites and, where applicable, through GoingNext HUB.
